  8. Senior Year? What is that? Is it possible? I can still remember walking in the doors as a freshman… You would count 180 days until I’m a sophomore…junior…senior…! Now it’s just a short 180 days until I graduate high school. Where do I even begin? Half of my life will be in West Chester becoming something beyond wonderful. She will follow her dreams, find love, and experience life out of Tunkhannock. The other half will not know what to do on it’s own.
If you cut a brain down the middle, you get half the intelligence and half the function. My life is a brain split into two separate parts. I guess with the right technology you can live without one part. You just have to adapt. Your speech and hearing wouldn’t be the same, and you wouldn’t have the same intelligence. I feel like having a physical life without my best friend will be just like that. I won’t be as strong, but I have to adapt in order to make things okay.
This is all new to me. I’ve never had a friend that has cared about me so much. You have casual friends and convenient friends, but a best friend…. THAT is there you have gold.
I truly believe with everything I have that there is another person on this earth that will make you whole. Finding mine wasn’t easy… It took a lot of strength, courage, and a hell of a lot of trust to get to the point we are today. I was a wreck. Worse than the Titanic sinking to the bottom of the ocean. It was impossible for me to float up again. Out of nowhere (and I mean NOWHERE), came this girl with a lot of heart that acted like a life vest. [Ironically enough, she is a lifeguard] She brought me back up to the surface of the roaring ocean, and we worked extra hard to swim to the safe shore.
I could not picture my days without her laugh, her voice, or her smiles. They are what got me through these past two years. Although, we will not be together every second of every day, I know that our friendship will remain strong. Even if I have to adjust with only half of a brain.
